The new station on the reinstated line is to be situated beyond the overbridge in the distance, where space is available for car-parking, which for some weird and wonderful reason now seems to be the prime consideration in the siting of railway stations. Surely the whole point of rebuilding railways and stations is to do away with the need for cars? [Michael Laing]
